Who we are
William May & Co. was established in 1989, as an exclusive ceramic tile distributor and sales agency representing Johnson Tiles, the United Kingdom’s premier wall tile manufacturer.
The line is enhanced with selected products from quality European manufacturers.
It is a family company led by Julie Tobias and Paul McGinty. Both have deep roots in the ceramic Industry and worked previously for Johnson Tiles in the United Kingdom and overseas.
The company is active in the designer, architectural and retail markets operating through a network of specialist tile distributors across the USA.
Stocked material is warehoused in its New Jersey Headquarters. Project work is imported on
a job by job basis, special ordered, arriving on frequent containers, for seamless logistics.
Products are supported by selling tools, incorporating sample boards, specifier chip wallets and loose samples. With over thirty years of experience in manufacturing and sales, William May & Co. offer outstanding technical support. Our manufacturing partners work with us to provide industry leading levels of service.
Johnson Tiles, based in the historic “Potteries” region in England, is a major producer of tiles selling into World Markets. William May selects the most appropriate products from that range for the USA market in terms of design, price and logistics. USA stocked products are grouped into the “Dover” brand, stocked in the New Jersey warehouse for shipment across North America. Prismatics is the core wall-tile specification offer where plain colors are required; covering the entire color spectrum. This is supplemented Chroma, Savoy and Chroma which focus on large-module wall tiles. The focus of Minton Hollins is traditional design combining detail with fine quality. Avoir, Savoy Floors, Hex-25 and Minerals are new 2019 introductions.
Most Johnson Tiles products not stocked in the USA can be special ordered on request, arriving on our frequent shipments from the factory.
